Already Lost...

It has been one month so far since I have started this quest, but I still feel that I know the same amount of Japanese as when I started: nothing.

Was this month entirely wasted?

It was not wasted, but I felt I could have done more. I have started to learn the simplest alphabet, hiragana (Chart shown at the bottom of the page); and I also started learning the numbers from 1-10. The way I have learned these things thus far is not the best way to learn, but, I definitely am getting there. I have been using this website in order to get most of my information from and it has helped a lot. It's credible as this person was once a student who had multiple Japanese teachers and even though they may not be able to speak Japanese fluently, they know what they are attempting to teach.

Are you even trying?

In all honesty for this past month I have been slacking a lot, so to answer that question: No I haven't. Does that mean I'm going to just not do anything for the entire year? Also no. As I stated in my first blog post I am very enthusiastic about learning this language and if I was given time in class just to learn this and I did nothing then that would be a very big waste of time. Even though this month was not very productive I feel this was a necessary step; I think this first month was for me to find a foothold on where and how to start this quest to really get into it.

Some final notes for this post

Now that I have the correct mindset for what I want to do, I now intend to execute the plan and hopefully produce results; the results will be in the form of my upcoming blog posts so I do hope you come back again to read what happens.
